HeidiSQL is, as you say, the original author Ansgar Becker re-releasing what he first called MySQL Front.
He had stopped development a few years back, allowed a new developer to use the name. But it wasn't at all the same product, entirely different codebase (and quite buggy). When he decided to resume development of his product, he called it HeidiSQL.
Meanwhile, the second developer continued the entirely different MySQL Front, but evidently has had to change the name to just SQL Front.
http://www.sql-front.com HeidiSQL is a great product, I use it almost daily. However it doesn't have a lot of the more advanced functionality like managing foreign key constraints, for example. I keep Navicat around for those types of tasks.
